| Happy SuperBurnNoticeSeasonPremiereDay! ( David Duchovney does gay porn? )Am I the only one in the world with no interest in Twilight whatsoever? Yesterday was a busy day-- car washed, haircut then home to color it. (God forbid my cousins see all my gray hair!) then a trip to Home Depot for parts to fix my toilet. Yes, I broke my toilet. *facepalm* The lever arm that lifts the flapper thingy broke. I am DIY Goddess because now my toilet works again! I need to remember to email my sister and thank her for the birthday present. She got me bpal! This is astonishing because normally she doesn't like shopping at new and unusual places. I was expecting an Amazon gc from her. *^_^* Work is being an annoying bitch lately. I could complain about the arctic blast of air down my back from the AC yesterday that was so bad I had to wear a jacket all night. Or the fact that whenever I use the capslock key on my computer some mysterious hotkey sequence is initiated and my computer becomes possessed and pops up all kinds of programs and switches the keyboard to typing gibberish. Or the fact that we're locked out of the program files so any changes or customizations we make to the software get erased as soon as we close down the program. But I won't. =P - Feeling: enthralled
- Hearing: Streetlab - Gimme Shelter (streetlab mix)

| Bought a ticket for Comic Con over the weekend. Just for Sunday though. Being there for four days last year wore me out, so just going for what I want to see. Anyone else on my flist going? (okay, dumb question. I know some of you are. Humor me.) I did nothing over the long weekend and enjoyed it. Of course that meant I had to do laundry and dishes Monday morning. If you've got HBO, you should try to catch Generation Kill. It's a BBC co-produced miniseries based on a book by a Rolling Stone reporter who was embedded with a Marine recon unit in Iraq at the beginning of the war. I guess they'd call it a docu-drama because it's a recreation not a documentary, but it's really well done and will really make you feel for the soldiers caught in the middle. I bet it's HBO's big Emmy winner next year. There's at least three Marines from the real First Recon unit in it. I saw someone describe it as the ultimate road trip movie. Trailer: I still crave a Burn Notice / Supernatural crossover like crazy. Can you imagine the snark if Dean and Michael ever ran into each other? Sam W. would totally have a crush on Michael and it would make Dean pissy. Dean would hit on Fi and get his balls ripped off (metaphorically), then bond with Sam A. over beer. Or Maybe Michael and Dean would bond over gadgets. Michael would be very skeptical about the supernatural unless he came face to face with it. I think about these things too much. Really good amnesia!Dean big bang over here: What Remains by walkawayslowly. Sam/Dean and the most gorgeous art I've seen yet for the big bangs. "This is the one where Dean loses his memory and himself, and Sam has to find both."I love my state.I should probably go to bed now. | |

| I need that xkcd icon that says " Someone is wrong on the internet." Ha. Oh, PMS, I love how combative you make me. (Also mostly unrelated and pretty cryptic, my my, but someone in my fandom has stepped up her "love me, I am wonderful" PR efforts in her community after a recent kerfluffle.) Guilty secret: I want someone to make me custom Sam and Dean My Little Ponies to keep on my desk at work. Dean with a short little brush-cut mane and Sam with a forelock constantly falling in his eyes.*^_^* I'd even pay for them. Leather Jacket and hoodie optional. Can someone tell me if this SPN spoiler is true or not? Katie Cassidy won't be back, but Ruby will be? Seriously, I don't want to know more than that, please. Did I mention that our ycon panel got approved? ponderosa121, ara_chan, we're approved. (note to self: episode reaction posts, friending memes, communal viewing experience-- not waiting for translation.) I miss going to Hawaii every other year now that my sister is living in Texas. Hmm, no food in the house. I should go shopping. I feel very behind on things. >.> Yet, logically, I don't think I am. Okay, off to get food. | |

| Things that make me laugh out loud... seeing an author post on SPN_storyfinders looking for some fics to read and then she got her own stories rec'd back to her. Bidding is open at livelongnmarry. I have bid and been outbid already. Oh, Viacom is being a little bitch. I'm glad I mostly watch user created SPN vids over there. Take that, Viacom! I thought I mentioned watching the Fringe pilot (New series from JJ Abrams, ie: the "Lost" guy) but I don't see the post, so maybe my LJ client ate it. Anyway, it was a pretty good pilot. I liked the lead woman. ( poisontaster I think you would like her too.) Hopefully she'll stay strong and smart. I'm not a fan of Joshua Jackson but he was tolerable here. It's got the conspiracy of the X-files mixed with the mystery of Lost, topped with some nifty special effects. (Also re: leaked pilots... *snickers* I almost wish they'd leaked Dollhouse instead. Two show that look like they've got massive budgets-- which one will get canceled first? And why didn't they keep New Amsterdam? That show was awesome.) I may have bought myself an iPod for my birthday. Then had buyer's remorse immediately afterwards. Ah well, it was cheap refurbished and I can plug it into my car. Anyone got any suggestions for how I can prevent iTunes from putting its DRM all over my music? (I suppose I should go figure out just exactly what iTunes does, actually.) Hmm, I've been pondering the definition of RPS AU fanfic recently. Isn't all RPS by its very existence AU? I mean these guys aren't in a romantic relationship with each other in real life. Is there a different meaning of AU that I'm not getting here? loose_pages_sd is setting up a delicious for specifically those stories, but to me all RPS would fall under that umbrella. But it seems that I'm the only one who thinks that. And janissa11 has a post discussing this genre, so what is the definition of RPS AU? With Sam/Dean slash, you can imagine that things take place off-screen but still in the universe, but for RPS you don't have that layer of fantasy because everything either happens or it doesn't. Am I being too literal? Okay, I need to go feedback a couple of spn_j2_bigbang stories and art, then figure out what I'm doing with my weekend. House cleaning is definitely on the agenda though. And pricing some air-conditioning. And reading-- I'm so behind on the things I want to read. Everyone have a happy Friday. :) | |

| OMG, I made the best chili EVER yesterday. ( Easy Chicken Chili )Happy birthday, razorqueen_gw! I couldn't ask for a better person to share it with. And thank you for the vgifts, ecards and birthday wishes. y'all rock. | |

| Missing: One squee. Lost somewhere on the internet. (This past week was pretty hellish at work too. Mrrr.) Hmmm, I want her shoes.Looks like I might want to go to Comic Con for a day this summer. *^_^* (Second question down.) That could be a day trip, right? Or one of you will let me crash on your floor for a night? *puppy eyes* I have to keep telling myself it's okay not to read all the spn_j2_bigbang fic the day they come out. I can wait and spread them out over hiatus. *.* Need to catch up on BF reading/posting this weekend. I am a bad list momma. Hey look! USA Network knows how to promote a show in its second season! Unlike some other networks I won't mention. *coughCWcough* Which reminds me that there's a copy of the new Chris Kane series floating around somewhere too. I should go hunt that puppy down. Oh, me likey. I hope this one runs awhile. Reminds me a little lot of The Hustle. (even down to the music, wow.) And it's got Chris Kane. And Timothy Hutton. And the guy who played Jake (who is much better here.) ^___^ ETA: Hehe, it would help if I mentioned the name. Leverage, coming this fall to TNT. Roundtable fic and vid recs. Okay, off to take another crack at my to-do list. | |

YOUR GAMER TAG (a favourite colour, a favourite animal): Green Wolf (That's rather boring for a gamer.) 5. | Is hummus considered a vegetable? A song for you: Cowboy Mouth, Everything You do. Pond reminded me how much I like Cowboy Mouth. I think they sound a lot like Alabama3 in this song. An SPN vid rec for you: So much schmoopy love. Video by coastal5: Sam♥Dean 4ever. (I found this surfing friendsfriends and I'm surprised it hasn't been rec'd around more.) Two SPN fanart recs: - oatmeal_queen posted the line art for this sometime last week I think, but her colored version is awesome. She did it all with markers. *_* - Is he going in or coming out? ileliberte's gorgeous Sam. *laughs and laughs* I hear Amanda Peet is in the X-Files movie as an FBI agent. I think I just decided to never see that movie. Every time I see someone post that zombie meme I am shocked that they're not picking Queen as their soundtrack. Did no one see Shaun of the Dead? Queen is the ONLY appropriate music when fighting zombies. We had to caption a McCain commercial last night. Bleack. My dad started cancer treatment this week and called it uneventful. Yaye. Yargh, now I'm late to get ready for work. Where does time go? *runs*

| Oh, God, if this isn't one of the worst things to hit fandom in a while, I'm not sure what is. Disney buying Fanlib. Let the copyright lawsuits begin. After being all happy about working on The Rebel Monday, yesterday was a Uwe Boll movie. I will probably have to work on it again today. Universe, you mock me. So what happened yesterday that has everyone convinced that Jared and Sandy broke up? (I heard the rumors a week ago, but everyone seems convinced they're true now? Yes, I like gossip sometimes. I'll admit it. Comment anonymously if you like.) N'awww. Let's hope the California Supreme court sticks to their guns. Apparently the US elected a new president last night when I wasn't looking? (jk, but you'd think so from all the carrying on.) There's still a ways to go, guys. Remember Kerry and the Swift boat veterans? Don't you think there's gonna be more of that crap in the next six months leading up to the election? If you thought it was ugly up till now, just wait. Ugh, I'm glad the week is almost half over. I've got lots of things on my mind that are a little depressing and I'm PMSing on top of that. Anyone got any happy music to rec me? Happy pictures? Naked men? Fic recs? - Feeling: discontent

| Pira over on IJ just got back from a two-week trip to Kyoto and she's got some gorgeous pictures up with interesting commentary. For all you arm-chair travelers. ;) I worked on a foreign film last night-- The Rebel, in Vietnamese (and some French) and I kept recognizing one of the actors' voice. Finally I had to go to IMDB to check out if it was who I thought it was. It was! \o/ Harry! Dustin Nguyen from 21 Jump Street. He's aged welllll! Now I am curious if he's moved back to Vietnam. ETA: Nope, just went back to film a couple of movies. I am a thief: 1. One Movie that Made you Laugh: Bull Durham 2. One Movie that Made you cry: Black Hawk Down 3. One Movie that you loved when you were a child: Where the Red Fern Grows 4. One Movie that you've seen more than once: Hedwig and the Angry Inch 5. One Movie you loved but were embarrassed to admit it: Class 6. One Movie that you hated: Dogville 7. One Movie that Scared You: Invasion of the Body Snatchers 8. One Movie that bored you: Velvet Goldmine 9. One Movie that bored you, everyone loves but you don’t see why: It's a Wonderful Life. 10. One Movie that made you miserable: Grave of the Fireflies (Steals answer too.) 11. One Movie that you weren't brave enough to see: Schindler's List 12. One Movie character that you've fallen in love with: Paul Maclean 13. The Last Movie you saw: at home: Ghostbusters, at the theater: Indian Jones and the Crystal Skull 14. The Next Movie you hope to see: Prince Caspian, maybe. Or Iron Man. Something that comes out on my birthday, perhaps. Hancock. 15. Your Favorite Movie: Hard Boiled | |

| Huh, Drama Queen belly up? (Sorry, flocked link.) I have to take Spooks back to the vet tomorrow because they screwed up on her bloodwork. Grrr. I was hoping to get this all done before June started. At least she doesn't get carsick like Chase does. Some helpful links if you know someone going through a serious illness. Patient/friend care. Steve Carlson show last night was okay-- shorter than normal and didn't include the whole band. Dragyn, good thing you didn't come. *^_^* But the Chicken Molé (and company!) I had for dinner beforehand were excellent. I will never look at balloon animals the same way. I can't wait for spn_j2_bigbang fics. *vibrates* I updated Firefox on my laptop and now my session saver doesn't work. >.< I'm glad I didn't upgrade on my desktop so all those saved sessions I intended to bookmark can still be opened. On the other hand, yaye for adblocker! Ahahaha! I can haz Acklez nao plz. (Is there anyone who hasn't seen his ad for the Titanic pendant? Think if we all pooled our money we could hire him to shill for Astroglide or something?) My sister is trying to talk my dad and stepmom into buying a laptop computer. I think they should go for an mp3 player instead because it's smaller, lighter and more portable, but what do I know. Hmmm. ( Quiz that turned out surprsingly accurate despite only being one question... )Now I'm gonna go have a beer and do the dishes. Both at the same time. Channeling both my inner Dean and my inner Sam. *^_^* | |

| Noted things of note in bullet form:
- legomymalfoy won the LJ election.
- 7:30 in the morning is too damn early to get up when you didn't go to bed until 3:00 am.
- New LJ policies. Surprisingly logical.
- Both cats are at the vet getting poked and prodded. The anxiety won't go away till they're both home safe.
- All the new/old SPN promo photos make me happy
in my pants.
- Hellish client still hellish. Wish co-worker would stop making mistakes on their stuff which reflects badly on all of us and gets us all in trouble.
- Comfort food = tater tot casserole.
20 5 minutes to go. OMG, tasty!
- It's a good thing I'm getting off work early tonight because I am TIRED!
- I am going to DL "Great Train Show" podcasts and burn them to CD for my dad's Father's Day present. I think he'll like that.
( ETA: Why, yes, I did have tater tot casserole for breakfast... )

| I defeated the evol dimmers! Fear me and my awesome lightening and darkening ability. (Only took two days and two trips to Home Depot. Who knew my living room and bedroom lights were WIRED TOGETHER on the same hot line that had to be linked directly together, not through the bedroom switch? Not me. But I do now.) And it only cost me $35 and a broken fingernail. I mourn the nail. Also this weekend I took my car in for some maintenance. Dear John the Mechanic, I adore you, but please don't be doing things I didn't ask for. Yes, in the overall scheme of things, an extra $50 on a $300+ bill may not seem like much for things that eventually need to be done anyway, but it also went over your estimate and over my budget for things that could have been put off another month and it means I'm going to have to put the next important maintenance off that much longer. Besides I like Jiffy Lube better for my oil changes, since they do what I tell them. Although you did rotate the tires without charging me, so that was appreciated. On the upside, I did sneak off to watch Indiana Jones while they worked on the car, so it wasn't as tedious as it could have been. I kinda forgot how cheesy these movies are. A fun popcorn flick though. ( spoilers )3.16 coda recs. Things I have to remember to do this week: - Call eye doc to reorder contacts - Call other doc to get referral that he was supposed to call me back about last week and didn't, the bastige. - Make vet appt for Chase and Spooks - mail bpal swap stuff - Father's day present-- Kane album? Mmm, my jsquared porn pic got deleted from photobucket. Wonder if someone reported it. Just a reminder, if you don't like what I post here, it's always friending/defriending amnesty. No drama. I keep getting these surveys from the DNC asking for my opinion and telling me that it's important for me to give feedback to the party "to direct the course of the election" blah blah blah. I don't know how serious to take them because they're also asking for money. Is the survey an excuse to ask for money and not worth the paper it's printed on? Or are they conserving resources? I'd be much more inclined to fill out the survey if they didn't have their hand out at the same time. Speaking of-- don't forget the LJ elections. It's important for fandom to get out and vote since one of the candidates seems to be waging quite the dirty campaign. More info here. They've finally started the construction on our new offices that was supposed to be finished in two weeks. (It's been about a month already.) Rumor has it that we're all getting new computers and flat-screen monitors when we move back in. It's one of those I'll-believe-it-when-I-see-it things, as most of my job-related things are. The shady tree/shrub that they chopped up last year has grown back nicely and it's shading my kitchen window beautifully this year. Hopefully they won't chop it up again. I don't -think- they will because they did all their chopping a couple months ago, but you never know. And that's all the news that's fit to print. | |
